Jan Joost van Gangelen is a Dutch television presenter, reporter and sports journalist.
Van Gangelen started in 1997 as a sports journalist at the NOS. On July 1, 2001, he made his television debut. A few years later, in 2005, he left together with colleague Humberto Tan for the new channel Talpa, later called Tien. Here he presented the soccer program De Wedstrijden with two others. After the demise of the television channel, Van Gangelen worked with Tan and Wilfred Genee for the commercial channel group RTL Nederland. In the summer of 2008, he presented De Olympische Sportquiz for VPRO on Nederland 3. He was also a guest several times on talk shows, such as Voetbal International and NOS Studio Voetbal.
Since its inception in 2008, Van Gangelen has been involved with ESPN and its predecessors Eredivisie Live and FOX Sports. Here he became one of the station's permanent faces. He presents various programs, such as The Eretribune and Teammates, and reports on matches in the Eredivisie and UEFA Europa League. In addition to his work for the sports channel, Van Gangelen also presented around matches of the Dutch soccer team and the UEFA Champions League for SBS6 and Veronica, together with Toine van Peperstraten.
In January 2019, Van Gangelen began presenting the radio program Veronica Inside on Fridays, with Genee taking over on the other weekdays. In the fall of 2020, the program received the Golden RadioRing and moved from the afternoon rush hour to the morning rush hour.
Van Gangelen participated in the fourth season of the SBS6 program It Takes 2 in 2019.
In 2023, Van Gangelen participated in the fifth season of the RTL 4 program The Masked Singer. In 2024, at the same channel, he participated in the television program Beat the Champions VIPS.
