Mo grew up in The Hague, broke through relatively late as a professional footballer and played for Excelsior, FC Groningen, FC Twente, Feyenoord and VVV-Venlo, among others. He then made the move to the boardroom, holding positions at the KNVB, Vitesse, Maccabi Haifa and FC Groningen, among others. Under his direction, Vitesse won the KNVB Cup, the first major prize in the club's history.
