An informative and interactive presentation in which I take the audience through the entire career of The Beatles based on the released material. I explain with my 3 guitars how songs were created and tell the backgrounds. In this show the audience laughs a lot and joins in.
My name is Peter vorrink and I have been giving interactive and multi-media lectures on The Beatles for almost 10 years nationwide. On weekdays I am a project manager in ICT. My hobbies are sports and music (making). I am a singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer with the Irish folk band The Foxes from Amersfoort. The other band members once asked me to tell something about The Beatles because I often talk about them when we discuss with the band how something should sound. The intention was an evening with our partners but soon people from outside the band also showed interest. This spontaneous idea eventually turned into a full-length show with more than 200 people in the audience.
I
introduce the audience to the members of The Beatles; John Lennon, Paul Mc Cartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The story starts in the 1940s and ends in 2023 when one last new song from the band was released. I show rarely shown photographs and present as many live recordings of The Beatles as possible. For the song Blackbird, I indicate that this song by Paul Mc Cartney is based on Bach's Boeree. I then play this on my guitar and let it slowly transition into the accompaniment of Blackbird. Then I play an audio recording in which Paul's voice sounds alone. I then accompany him on guitar.
If there is enough time, at the end of the program I introduce the audience to ai created " new" music by The Beatles.
