The orchestra appeals to many people's imagination: the power of the music, but also the almost magical way in which a group of professionals perform to perfection within a short period of time. And the role of the conductor in this: how can someone communicate without words? Yet the same processes play a role in an orchestra as in other organisations. And because everything is so audible and visible, you can learn a lot in a short period of time

I strongly believe in experiential learning: "In an hour of play you learn more than a year of conversation" This quote from Plato is a guideline for me to keep the presentation as interactive as possible. By letting participants play along on a diverse, challenging and yet accessible percussion instrumentation, or with body percussion and voice. But also by entering into a dialogue with participants, asking questions

I customize the presentation. What is the theme of the day? Where am I in the program? What's the background. What is the time and space. How do we make sure that it is not only inspiring, energetic and creative, but that it can also be translated into daily practice? The preparation is therefore an important part of the final result

I have a background as a professional percussionist in many styles, including the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, since 10 years in my own company Klanklichaam I have built up extensive experience as a trainer/coach/speaker for a very diverse audience. This experience combined with a wide range of training courses around training, coaching and meaning makes it possible for me to translate the musical and creative side into a practical application in another field of work
