Jazz lecture using video and audio material from well-known jazz artists. Introduction to the music and its characteristics.

Saxophonist, arranger, conductor and composer Ruud Bergamin will guide you through the world of jazz. He does this by means of video images, sound samples and examples played on saxophone by himself. By means of the shown and performed material, many aspects of jazz music will be discussed.

During the introduction, visual and audio material will be shown from such artists as: Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Albert Ammons, Benny Goodman, Joe Zawinul, Cannonball Adderley, Dave Brubeck, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Maceo Parker, Joe Lovano, etc. etc. Ruud also plays some things for saxophone.

On the one hand, the introduction is intended for a wide audience: anyone who wants to know something about jazz, but on the other hand, musicians familiar with jazz will also see and hear all kinds of interesting things.

Great!

We booked Ruud for the dinner/reception of our wedding. The contact prior to the performance was fine and concise. Ruud arrived well on time and was neatly dressed. Very friendly man, introduced himself nicely at an appropriate time. The play was wonderful and exactly what we had in mind beforehand. In fact, we sent some songs in advance to give an impression of what we wanted to hear and Ruud handled this perfectly. All in all top!

Fantastic

Ruud came to play at our casino party and everyone was very appreciative of him. All the audience enjoyed it and Ruud was very nice to work together to make our party a success.
