Herma Kluin grew up in an entrepreneurial family in the eastern part of the country, with a twin sister and a younger brother. As a child, she was constantly on the hunt for adrenaline rushes. A nighttime drop-off in a deep, dark forest? Herma led the way, because the scare factor wasn’t nearly as good at the back of the group. She began her career in the banking and insurance industry. Life went on at a leisurely pace until she turned fifty. Then everything changed.
She set out to rekindle the passion of her youth and decided to call private investigator Ben Zuidema—the man whose every newspaper article she had saved for years. To her own surprise, he answered the phone and invited her to his office. He listened to her story, in which she told him she’d been dreaming of a career as a private investigator for years, and she decided to take his private investigator training course, quit her office job, and found the Incognito detective agency.

However, her true passion lies in “missing persons cases.”
In 2021, she won the Wintrade Woman of the Year Award.
She believes her greatest strength as a private investigator is her ability to sink her teeth into a case like a pit bull, her fearlessness, and her self-reliance. The latter is a positive outcome of a childhood that lacked support and love. I had to be independent from a very early age as a child, which is why I hold my own exceptionally well in the predominantly “alpha culture.”
