A better condition, performing at work, sleeping better and being more rested, having a good work-life balance, having more attention for partner and children, being able to relax more easily and being able to be 'off' for a while. We all want it, but in the hustle and bustle of our busy everyday lives, it's hard to succeed. Because our schedules are overflowing with work commitments, we don't want to miss any social parties with friends and we feel obliged to be present at every family outing. Former speed skating champion Jochem Uytdehaage knows all about it. In the first years after ending his top sports career, he ended up on the verge of burnout because he wanted to keep too many balls in the air both professionally and privately and also wanted to do everything perfectly. It turned out to be an impossible task.

Jochem analyzed his experiences as a top skater and later in his social existence and came to interesting insights on energy, balance and vitality. This is how he discovered the four Batteries of Energy. The spiritual, mental, emotional and physical battery. Or head, heart, body and mind. Four communicating vessels that are in constant communication with each other and have a great influence on our daily lives.

Jochem is a firm believer that those who take good care of themselves and exercise enough manage to recharge their batteries much better. To keep them in the green and prevent them from shooting into orange or - worse - red. The beauty, he says, is that it doesn't take big changes to make this happen. Instead, it's about small lifestyle changes. If the first domino falls, several will follow and a positive chain reaction will be created. Jochem likes to help people knock down that first pebble and give them that all-important first push. In his eyes there is nothing more beautiful than to live a vital and rich life.

Jochem Uytdehaage was a top speed skater from 1996 to 2007. In 2002, he experienced his absolute peak at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics by capturing gold in both the five and ten kilometers. He also became world all-around champion that year. After his elite sports career, he went to work as a motivator and presenter. With over fifteen years of experience, Jochem is a seasoned speaker who literally knows how to get his audience moving with his inspiration, enthusiasm and energy. With special attention to themes such as drive, flow, self-confidence, doubts, focus, nutrition, sleep, exercise and relaxation. His insights, exercises and realistic approach ensure that after his lecture or workshop everyone is inspired and motivated to do something positive about his or her vitality.
