As a photographer, Jimmy Nelson travels around a lot. He has since captured many indigenous peoples on camera. During his travels, he learned a lot not only about humanity, but also about himself.
Jimmy has worked as a photographer for the past 30 years and is the initiator of the Jimmy Nelson Foundation. At the age of 16, he was that accidentally prescribed the wrong medication and suffered from Alopecia totalis, losing all his hair. At Jesuit boarding school, his baldness was seen as a sign of rebellion and he felt socially isolated. As a result, Jimmy unconsciously began his search for a place where he felt comfortable in the world. At age 18, he chose Tibet, where, in his
naiveté, he thought all young men were bald and he would feel at ease. It was the catalyst for his endless search for human connection.
For his new book "Homage to Humanity," he revisited some of these tribes as well as some new ones.
