In 1966 Jan Vayne was born in Zuidwolde, in the province of Drenthe. He started piano lessons at the age of four and by the age of ten was already giving concerts and winning first prizes at competitions. Averse to tradition and with a great sense of freedom, he broke through the barrier between pop and classical music. From that time on Jan Vayne has devoted himself to propagating this motto in the most diverse ways. Freedom cannot be pigeonholed. This thought is always paramount for Jan. Both in his life and in his music. His exceptional improvisational talent and thorough training are essential to this.
