Karma & Kosmos is an interactive, theatrical, and delightfully absurd performance in which the audience member takes center stage for once. Two colorful characters take their guests on a journey to a world full of positive energy, rituals, humor, and a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor.

At a company party, staff party, festival, anniversary, conference, or other event, Karma & Kosmos invite guests one by one to take a seat on their throne. There, the ego finally gets the attention it deserves. Through unique rituals, incense, surprising props, unexpected questions, and improvisation, each encounter is one-of-a-kind.

Karma & Kosmos interact directly with their audience. As a result, the visitor isn’t just a spectator but an integral part of the act. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes a bit awkward, and sometimes surprisingly spot-on—but always with a wink. No two encounters are the same.

The act is suitable as an interactive theater performance, entertainment, reception act, and entertainment during events such as corporate parties, festivals, staff days, anniversaries, cultural events, conferences, and other special gatherings.

Performance Duration and Pricing Options
Karma & Kosmos offers flexible booking options. The standard booking is based on a maximum of 4 hours on-site, including setup and takedown. Within this timeframe, Karma & Kosmos performs multiple interactive segments.

Shorter bookings of 1 or 2 hours are also possible at an adjusted rate. For a special welcome reception, a themed event, a longer performance, or other requests, the act can be customized in consultation. Who are Karma & Kosmos?

Behind Karma & Kosmos are Thom van de Haar and Ester Lammers-van der Linden: two theater artists from different generations who share a love for acting, improvisation, character roles, and the unique encounters that theater can create.

Thom trained as an actor at Rijn IJssel in Arnhem and completed the Theater Teacher program at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). He works as an actor, theater teacher, director, host, dramaturg, designer, and theater technician. For him, theater is a place where anything is possible for a moment and where people are challenged through performance to see and think differently.

Ester is a theater maker, creative producer, presenter, and cultural professional with over twenty years of experience in theater productions, site-specific theater, cultural events, and audience engagement activities. She was instrumental in launching a wide range of theater projects in Rhenen and served, among other roles, as the initiator and production manager of the large-scale open-air theater Sint Cunera in Rhenen. In addition, she performed in theater productions for many years, played character roles, and worked as a host and moderator.

It is precisely the combination of Thom’s professional theater background and Ester’s years of experience with audiences, events, and site-specific theater that forms the foundation of Karma & Kosmos.
