Last Friday I had the pleasure of hosting this band at my 40th birthday party. What a great band and incredibly nice people! The enthusiasm splashed off the stage, the songs were cool, the sound perfect and the audience was wonderfully taken with them. Also the communication beforehand was great! We really enjoyed this evening!

This afternoon, Not There! was on stage with us. Five somewhat pleasantly disturbed musicians who, perhaps because of that, go through life as a musician without a care in the world. Five musicians whose pleasure in playing radiated from a show that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. With an uncommon and very diverse cover repertoire, Not There! went wild with enthusiasm. Guano Apes, Anouk, Muse, Green Day, Pink, Focus, Foo Fighters, Krezip, Linkin Park...you name it, it all passed by in very cleverly put together arrangements that made you have to guess which way a song went. The audience was quickly won over by songs like Jerusalem, Basket Case, In The Dark and Walk. Hocus Pocus, a sneaky rendition of What I've Done, Nothing Compares, Black Hole Sun and Holiday were also rewarded with loud applause and Uprising and Pretender had everyone going wild. With a solid sound, often strong songs and a lot of passion, Not There puts on a show that is not to be sneezed at. Flawless vocals by the front woman, assisted by bass player and one of the guitarists, solid guitar parts, tight bass tones, solid and robust drumming by a drummer who, to put it mildly, doesn't sit still at all and who also rushes the necessary samples into the hall. With all that, this band puts down an overall sound with a character all its own. In no time the atmosphere was perfect and these five friendly musicians were enjoyed to the fullest.
