When Dominique van Hulst was 15 years old, she had a promising tennis career ahead of her—she was even preparing for Wimbledon. Unfortunately, that came to an end after a serious injury. As a result, she decided to focus entirely on music.

After a successful performance at a café, she landed a record deal and continued under the stage name Do. She was soon invited to open for artists such as Montell Jordan and 5ive.

Her international breakthrough came when she collaborated with DJ Sammy on a trance version of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven.” The song made it into international charts, proving that Do could not only capture the hearts of the Dutch but was also ready for an international audience.

In 2003, she released an acoustic version of “Heaven,” which once again reached the top of the charts. To this day, it remains a frequently played song at weddings throughout the Netherlands.

In 2004, Do recorded “Voorbij” with Marco Borsato. This song quickly became a No. 1 hit and earned her a TMF Award for Best Female Singer. Her debut album, “Do,” was also released that same year. The album was well received; just one week after its release, it reached number three on the Album Top 100!

Do also released a song for the most festive month of the year, in collaboration with Trijntje Oosterhuis. The song “Everyday is Christmas” turned out to be a real Christmas hit, reaching seventh place on the Top 40 and earning a gold record.

Her next big hit came in 2011 through her participation in *De Beste Zangers Van Nederland*. There, Do sang, among other songs, a beautiful cover of André Hazes’ “Zij Gelooft In Mij,” which became a number-one hit. That same year, Do released her Christmas album *Bubbles & Bells*, which would go on to become her best-selling album with 50,000 copies sold.

In 2016, Do released her latest album to date: *Momentum*. The album is in Dutch, partly due to the positive feedback she received from her second appearance on *De Beste Zangers Van Nederland*.

With such an impressive career, Do is a true star in the Netherlands—she ranks among the absolute best. But that doesn’t mean she skips small, intimate performances; in fact, she still loves to sing at weddings, corporate parties, and anniversaries.
