Abel Tamata is a former professional football player, coach and social entrepreneur who knows better than anyone what it means to create opportunities, make choices and take responsibility for your own life. With his impressive personal story and broad experience in top sports, management and youth care, he inspires young people, professionals and organizations to realize: to see what is possible and actually make it happen.
The child of a Congolese refugee and a Dutch artist with schizophrenia, Abel Tamata made it to PSV's first team in 2010. There he won the national title and the KNVB Cup and became an international for Congo.
At the age of 26, Abel consciously made the switch from professional footballer to a social career. After completing his Master in Sports Management at the Johan Cruyff Institute, he worked as an artist manager for Boef, Jack $hirak, ICE and Glen Faria, among others, while simultaneously developing as a coach and speaker.
He participated in coaching programs within Rabobank, Deloitte and FrieslandCampina, among others, and founded Life Changing Group with his partners in 2021. From this organization, he guides young people in
Youth Care Plus and youth prisons towards a stronger and more valuable place in society on a daily basis.
In his lectures one concept is central: realization. Seeing opportunities in your immediate environment and actually achieving your goals. Abel connects his experiences from youth, top sports, management and youth care to a powerful story that touches, confronts and stimulates action.
As he says himself:
"I'm not just here to make a living, I'm here to make a difference."
