THE MUSIC QUIZ YOU'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE
Everyone knows a pub quiz. Music clip through the speakers, guess answer, next question. Fun, but predictable.
We turn it around: at De Notenkrakers a four-piece live band plays every music question. Guitar, drums, bass, vocals - all live. That makes all the difference.
A live played opening of "Sweet Child O' Mine" sounds very different from a Spotify snippet. The band might start with just the drums. Or speeds up the tempo. You have to really listen - not just recognize. And that makes it more exciting, unpredictable and much more fun.
HOW IT WORKS Here is a sample schedule that can, of course, be customized:
INTRO: Warm-up (20 min)
The band warms up with a few
songs. Singing along is allowed, warming up is required. You make teams. Game on.
ROUND 1: Famous theme songs from movies/series (25 min.)
Now it gets serious. The band plays short excerpts. Quickly deliberate: which song? Which artist? Bonus points for year AND album. "The one from that band" doesn't count.
ROUND 2: Your Company (optional, 20 min)
Make it personal! We incorporate up to 12 questions about your team into the quiz. Think: photos of colleagues, inside jokes, company history, products. From "Who said this in the Q3 meeting?" to "Which colleague has this baby picture?"
PAUSE (15 min)
Intermission + drinks + live music from the band"
ROUND 3: Complete the sentence (20 min)
The band plays a short part of a song and the singer stops halfway through. Do you know how it continues?"
ROUND 4: Famous hooks - The Finale! (25 min)
Do you still recognize the song if you only hear the drums? Or just the run of the bass guitar? Double points, anything goes!"
FINALLY: Award ceremony + Afterparty
The winner gets a prize. Afterwards, the band plays another set so you can sing along with those songs you were just discussing.

As organizers of the team day we were anxious to give the afternoon completely out of our hands, and we were afraid in advance that some employees would find it very far out of their comfort zone. But there was no need for either: the afternoon was fun and all the new drummers, (bass) guitarists and singers dared to go all out. This was all thanks to the great accompaniment of the three gentlemen. Also very special that there was even a whole song from all three (certainly not musical) bands. Highly recommended for every company!
