Living alongside autism
Henrike van Engelenburg is a sand artist, writer, speaker, linguist & cultural expert - with a keen eye on organizational dynamics as well as the perspective of a Co-driver (living and working alongside autism). She is also a former theater producer.
What does it mean to grow up as the child of an autistic parent or to work with someone with (possibly) autism? How does it affect identity, parenting, team outcomes and relationships as an adult?
In this lecture, I will take you into the world of the Side Driver - the neighbor of someone with (possibly) autism. What are the invisible dynamics in the family and workplace?
With stories of experience, videos, reflection, sand drawing and play, I will give practical tips and insights and help people who are (possibly) Co-drivers with (h)recognition and offer tools to guard emotional autonomy (personal leadership).
For professionals - such as caregivers, therapists, students and other stakeholders - I make the invisible suffering of Bijrijders visible
through the Bijrijders model. I offer insights into family dynamics and practical tools to support family members in maintaining their identity and boundaries while providing care and guidance to people with autism.

Henrike guided SKJ in a very authentic contemporary way through a very complex governance process. The results were surprising and concrete. To get started right away! (via Google)

An original performance with beautiful sand drawings. Together the themes chosen to match the audience. Vulnerable & honest anecdotes that speak to the imagination. Pleasant cooperation! (via Google)
