'Figure it out for yourself' is a personal story about the transition from externally driven professional to autonomous entrepreneur. A confrontational session about taking ownership, initiative and freedom.
'Figure it out for yourself' is a personal and at times confrontational story about ownership and autonomy. Many organizations clamor for more initiative and autonomy, but at the same time cling to systems of control and micromanagement. In this very personal session, Arthur and Patrick share their own 30-year quest: how they made the transition from externally managed professionals to autonomous entrepreneurs who set their own course. They expose their own vulnerabilities, bumps and uncertainties and show what concrete steps they took to find more joy, freedom and meaning in their work. We introduce concepts like Function Determination Beyond (FBA) - in which roles grow organically based on what people are good at and like, rather than predefined job
profiles.
The Free Thinkers (Arthur Kruisman and Patrick Donath) are the ultimate connectors of thinking and doing. After years of intrapreneurship within a large Dutch ICT company, since 2016 they focused entirely on inspiring organizations. In recent years they have refined their approach in numerous workshops with 5 to 1500 participants for more than 200 organizations - from government agencies to multinationals. With their energetic, interactive style, they get participants moving immediately without getting bogged down in analysis. Their six different story lines make them the ideal speakers for organizations that don't want yet another plan, but are finally looking for real action.
Why are Free Thinkers always the right choice?
They effortlessly connect their philosophy to current themes such as psychological safety (by taking off masks and being authentic), technology & AI (by encouraging curiosity and direct action), personal leadership (through ownership and authenticity), sustainability (through small, immediately actionable steps), and diversity & inclusion (by breaking the tyranny of 'normal').
