For a long time, the paradigm has been that technology advances humanity. DIt dogma, however, is changing dramatically, especially as we increasingly realize that real progression - despite all opposing forces - occurs on emotional, sustainable and societal levels.
In this razor-sharp, interactive, humorous and paradigm-breaking lecture, we learn to let go of the fear of the constant pressure to always stay "connected" to tech that invariably ends in disappointment. We recognize that the story we tell ourselves about technology is not new but has been explored for centuries, including the same mistakes.
We take all those NFTs and AIs and Bitcoins to task and go against the grain of everyone who has put technology on a pedestal. And we go from Plato to Confucius to Marcus Aurelius and Descartes, but we look just as hard at Pinnoccio, Homer Simpson, Commander Data and the decline of the social engineering ideals of The Kardashians, to figure out where the real success is now, the real revenue growth and the real improvement in our organizations.
It's a game between robot and human, artificial versus emotional intelligence, and even the masculine versus the feminine, to ultimately come right down the middle to the most successful path we can take between tech development and our humanity.

Bio Rogier van Kralingen
Writer, speaker and musician Drs. Rogier van Kralingen (MsC / MsA) is a storytelling specialist and founder of boutique production house The Whole Story. He graduated in war propaganda and copyright besides being nominated several times and winner of the PIM Literature Prize with books on innovation, crowdsourcing, marketing, emotions, society, technology and media. His most recent book, The Whole Story, is a guide to all the principles of storytelling. He has created several hundred stories in the private, public, cultural, charitable and business worlds, with outputs including video, theater, podcast, press releases, biographies, design, personal publicity, script, music, film, journalism and branded content. Rogier is a former guest columnist for BNR Radio, published in all major Dutch dailies, widely read marketing blogger, qualified scriptwriter and student of Hollywood script guru Robert McKee. His knowledge of human emotions brings him to stages with theater, music and visually appealing lectures, not infrequently laced with a good dose of self-mockery.
