Poke is a versatile Dutch rapper and singer known for his energetic, tropical beats and catchy melodies. He released his first songs on the underground circuit, but quickly broke through to the general public with his unique combination of hip-hop, trap, and Caribbean influences, putting a refreshing spin on the Dutch urban scene.

His big break came in 2019 with the single "Lekker He," a summer hit that went viral and put Poke on the map as one of the most innovative artists of the moment. The song was picked up in clubs and festivals and earned him a strong fan base, drawn to his laid-back yet energetic style. Since then, Poke has released several successful songs, including "Silly Boys" and collaborations with major artists such as Jonna Fraser and Dopebwoy.

Wijngaarde grew up in Suriname and moved to the Netherlands in 2008, where he grew up in Nijmegen. He was always busy with music during his younger years. Wijngaarde released his first single called Roll It in September 2017 in collaboration with rappers BKO and Jairzinho. A month later in October 2017, he joined record label Top Notch.

In March 2018, Wijngaarde had success with the single Loco that he made in collaboration with Yung Felix and Dopebwoy, the song reached 12th place in the Dutch Single Top 100 and stayed there for 32 weeks. That same year, he collaborated with several artists such as F1rstman, Hef and MocroManiac.

In the spring of 2019, Wijngaarde released his first album called Yung Pokro, which he made together with Yung Felix and it reached eighth place in the Dutch Album Top 100. In November of the same year, Poke participated in StukTV's online television series Het Jachtseizoen, in which he was caught after 1 hour and 51 minutes.

In the summer of 2020, Poke released the song We go rocket now in collaboration with Gerard Joling.
