Anouk was born on May 6, 1985 in Woerden. She comes from a sporty family. Both parents are physical education teachers and wanted to impart a broad base of sports. Anouk was already on 4 different sports at the same time, but a team sport was missing. That became soccer. A great soccer career awaited her. Together with her 1 year older brother Emiel, Anouk started playing soccer at the age of 9. After she participated in school soccer, she was completely sold. She immediately enrolled at CSW in Wilnis where she played soccer with the pupils. Soon she was noticed by the KNVB and scouted for regional selection teams. From the age of 12 Anouk decided to play as an only girl in a boys team at the club. There she got more physical resistance and became faster and stronger. She did this until she was 19 with the boys of v.v. CSW Wilnis, SV Argon (Mijdrecht) and Legmeervogels (Uithoorn).
From the age of 19, Anouk had reached the age where as a girl you are no longer allowed to play among the boys and have to make the switch to the women. She chose sv Saestum in Zeist. With that she became 2x national champion, won the SuperCup and made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Fun fact: This achievement has not yet been matched by another soccer club from the Eredivisie Women. When Anouk later joined English club Bristol Academy, she and her team again reached the quarterfinals of the champions league.
