Lecture Wouter Hesseling: Multitasking is a myth
Nowadays you are judged on performance. But if you want to perform, approach is at least as important as intelligence. Wouter therefore takes the audience to examine their approach and points out that many people try to multitask, while it is scientifically proven that this causes considerable damage. Using interactive exercises and anecdotes, people become aware of the price they pay when they take on too much at once.
Wouter Hesseling unravels the myth of multitasking during his keynote (20- 45 minutes). He now has more than 20 years of stage experience. He whirls across the stage, enthusiastically telling his story, answering questions from the audience, all while trying to keep ten fragile plates
spinning. Topics such as time management, multitasking, work-life balance, focus/awareness, peak performance, prefrontal cortex, working memory and reflex brain come up in his story.
After the presentation, participants are eager to put the new insights into practice. People are given a booklet to take home and can read it all over again at home.

Wouter hosted a great energetic, interactive and educational workshop for our department (~60 people). Led by Wouter, we were introduced to the "inconveniences" of Multitasking in a fresh and fun way. Wouter does this in a pleasant way, communication and preparation were very good. Afterwards we had many nice and positive reactions from the participants!

Full of energy, Wouter took employees of the municipality into the world of multitasking. Catchy examples, sharp content and very interactive, he gave insight into how our brain works. Very instructive and because we got to work ourselves with glasses, spoons and spinning plates it became a valuable experience. Thank you Wouter for how you unraveled the myth.

I have already experienced Wouter's workshop twice and am impressed by the enthusiastic way in which Wouter approaches the group and the playful and clear way in which he brings multitasking into the limelight. I can confirm that the efficiency increases significantly when you stop switchtasking. In short, a good workshop in these hectic times.
