Goldband, is a pop trio consisting of Boaz Kok, Karel Gerlach and Milo Driessen. The band name refers to the brand of plaster of the same name, a nod to the members' background in the plastering industry. What began as a hobby project quickly grew into one of the most notable acts in the Dutch music scene

Goldband's breakthrough came with their debut EP "Dun Smeren Geld Verdienen" (2019), followed by their albums "From Roulette to Doublet" (2020) and "Affordable Romance" (2021). Their music, a mix of electronic pop and various other styles, has earned them a permanent place in the Dutch music scene. The singles "Noodgeval," "Ja Ja Nee Nee," and "Stiekem" (featuring Maan) have further increased their popularity.

Gerlach studied music production and made mostly techno. After this, he continued with Driessen and transformed the music into the pop music the group later became known for. Kok joined the group last. The pop group's name comes from the eponymous brand of stucco plaster, thus referring to stuccoing, the band members' previous job[1]

On June 19, 2020, Goldband was named 3FM Talent (Best Group and Best Album, Affordable Romance). In 2022, the band performed at festival Lowlands, which visitors and reviewers found to be one of the best performances at that year's festival.[2] After the performance, White Wash and Emergency, two previous singles by the band, entered the Single Top 100 and Emergency also entered the Top 40.[3][4][5] In addition, Emergency landed in the Radio 2 Top 2000 in 2022. It entered at position 55, making it the highest new entrant in the list that year. Noodgeval also became a hit in Flanders, with a listing in the Ultratop 50,[6] giving the band their first radio hit. The album Betaalbare romantiek also rose in the Album Top 100 after the performance and again entered the Ultratop 200 Albums of Flanders.[7][8] In November 2022, the band released a new song together with the singer Maan titled Stiekem. This song was declared an Alarm Disc at Qmusic and a 3FM Megahit at NPO 3FM.[9][10]

On January 20, 2023, Goldband was in the news for possibly openly using cocaine, during a concert on stage.[11][12] Driessen reacted to the issue on television program Khalid & Sophie, saying that he felt the media reacted narrow-mindedly.[13] He agreed that the action was not smart and he advised against drug use, but also said that people have been using mind-altering substances for centuries and it is not at all crazy that he was doing so now. He said that it was precisely the media attention that made it more of a thing and also caused young people to see that they were doing it, even though he was at the party with only adults.

In 2023, the group was awarded the Pop Prize 2022 at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen. In the same year, they performed at Pinkpop in Landgraaf, Limburg, and at the Zwarte Cross in Lichtenvoorde.
