Jan Cornelis (Jan Kees) de Jager (Kapelle, February 10, 1969) is a Dutch former politician and economist. On behalf of the CDA, he served as Minister of Finance in the Rutte I cabinet from 2010 to 2012.
De Jager studied at Nyenrode University where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990. He then studied at Erasmus University where he received his doctoral degree in 1994 in two majors, sociological economics and business economics. He also graduated in Dutch law from the same university in 1996.
In addition to his work as managing partner of the Rotterdam Internet company ISM eCompany (of which he was co-founder in 1992), De Jager is socially involved in various activities. He was a member of the main CDA executive committee and of many organizations in social and economic fields. For his contribution to the success of the company he worked for and his efforts in various ICT and innovation-oriented side activities, De Jager received the ICT Personality 2006 Award from trade association ICT~Office.
