In January 2004, Loman made his musical debut. He played the role of Jonathan in the musical *Sleeping Beauty* at the Efteling Theater. During the 2004–2005 season, he won a John Kraaijkamp Musical Award for Rising Talent for his role as shop clerk Barnaby Tucker in the musical *Hello, Dolly!*. In 2005, Loman took on the role of Simon Zealotus in the musical *Jesus Christ Superstar*. For this role, he received a nomination for a John Kraaijkamp Musical Award in the “Best Supporting Role” category.
During the 2006–2007 season, Loman served as the alternate for Danny Yanga, who played the Scarecrow in *The Wiz*. He also alternated with Jim de Groot in the role of The Wiz. For his role as Marius in the Dutch version of *Les Misérables* in 2008, he won a John Kraaijkamp Musical Award in the category “Best Supporting Role.”
In September and October 2009, Loman played the role of Bobby Goud in the M-Lab production of *Urinetown*. In the spring of 2010, he appeared as Joseph in the musical *Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat* at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht. He regularly took over the role from Freek Bartels. From October 2010 through February 2011, he once again appeared in the musical *Urinetown* in the role of Bobby Goud. This time, the production toured throughout the country. Due to vocal issues, Loman’s role was taken over by Yoran de Bont in February and March 2011.
In May 2011, Loman appeared in the short-run production *Maria!*, a musical mash-up of classics presented as part of the “50 Years of Musical Theater” festival at M-Lab. Starting December 17, 2011, Jamai appeared alongside Thomas de Bres and Christine van Stralen in *De Winnaar* at M-Lab, a musical theater production about what happens after winning a TV talent show. Jamai not only played the lead role, but also developed the production in collaboration with M-Lab and screenwriter Henk Rijks.
In January 2012, Jamai took on the role of Krakeel alongside actor Steve Beirnaert in the musical *Droomvlucht* at Theater de Efteling. From January 20 through April 1, he performed the role of Krakeel in two shows per week. Starting in late May 2012, Jamai Loman played the role of Chris in the musical *Miss Saigon*. He took over the role from Ton Sieben and continued in it until the end of the production (July 8, 2012).
