The Woodstreet Big Band is the longest-running jazz orchestra in The Hague (founded in 1972) with a traditional lineup, consisting of saxophonists, trombonists, trumpeters, and a rhythm section featuring drums, bass guitar, guitar, and piano, as well as vocalists Jamie Pronk and Roger Eilbracht. The band is led by conductor Stanislav Mitrovic.

The big band performs everything from jazz classics—such as Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, and Sammy Nestico—to contemporary jazz by artists including Weather Report, Chaka Khan, Madonna, the Bee Gees, Oasis, and Alicia Keys. In addition to these diverse musical genres, the Woodstreet Big Band is the only band in the world to perform its own “The Hague Beat Meets Jazz” repertoire.

In addition to these diverse musical genres, the Woodstreet Big Band is the only band in the world to perform its own “The Hague Beat Meets Jazz” repertoire—special compositions that have been performed at events such as the Liberation Festival in The Hague, Jazz in de Gracht, The Hague Jazz Festival, and North Sea Round Town. Songs ranging from Anouk, Di-rect, and Kane to Livin’ Blues, Shocking Blue, and Golden Earring. At the premiere of this program featuring (inter)nationally renowned pop songs from The Hague, guest musicians such as Andy Tielman, Cesar Zuiderwijk, Robert Jan Stips, Hans Vandenburg, and Nicko Christiansen joined the band on stage.

In 2022, the Woodstreet Big Band celebrated its 50th anniversary at a sold-out Theater De Regentes. During this anniversary concert, the band was surprised by Mayor Jan van Zanen with a speech and the presentation of the Hague City Medal for their cultural and musical contribution to The Hague.
