Politician Richard de Mos inspires with lectures on resilience and overcoming adversity, sharing his personal experiences and offering valuable insights for a wide audience.
Lecture: "Dealing with Adversity!"
Many people find it difficult to deal with setbacks. They become fearful of failure and let themselves off the hook when things go wrong. This can be detrimental to a proactive attitude in the workplace, for example, and leads to people wanting to avoid risks. And that's a shame! Because it is actually good to come up with new initiatives, to take things up yourself and to learn to take responsibility.
What if you could turn setbacks into something positive? After all, setbacks are part of (working) life and cannot be avoided. What can be changed is people's attitude towards setbacks and a feeling of failure. If you learn how to deal with setbacks, you not only
benefit yourself, but also the company/organization where you work.
Because: a different view of setbacks creates a different mindset and that results in much more proactive and confident people/employees. How do you overcome setbacks and find motivation again?
That's exactly what I can tell you. Because dealing with adversity is something I have experienced firsthand. The case that the Public Prosecutor, through Trial by Media, rigged against me and cost me my head as alderman and first deputy mayor of The Hague has all the hallmarks of a political trial. And what about exclusion, even though you won the election?
In my lecture "Dealing with adversity" I not only refute all the allegations against me, but also explain in detail why it did not succeed in demolishing me. I invite you with inspiring life lessons to take back control of your life and/or career!
After this lecture you will have tools to turn setbacks into growth/development and progress. You cannot change what happens to you, but you can change how you deal with it.
- Standard lecture: we like to work with an interview setting for the informal character.
- Expansion: if desired, the content can be made more or less political.

Richard de Mos is a Dutch politician. He was alderman for the municipality of The Hague from June 7, 2018 to October 16, 2019 on behalf of the local party Groep de Mos/Hart voor Den Haag. On behalf of the Party for Freedom (PVV), he was a member of the Lower House of the States General from 2009 to 2012. Richard became alderman for Economy, Sports and Outdoors and 1st deputy mayor. He made an impression with his Ombud politics. This successful new form of politics draws its raison d'être from the powerlessness of citizens, the lost trust in politicians and the growing dislike of established political parties. The goal of Richard and his party is complete rehabilitation and to develop Ombudspolitics to perfection, in order to once again become the largest party (by far) in the municipal elections of 2026 and to force participation in the board.
Personal growth, inspiration, life experiences, challenges, perseverance, perseverance, empowerment, candor.
