The popularity of CBD is growing in the Netherlands, but has in fact been going on since 2016. In 2016, there was a run on CBD oil. In that year, for example, the herbal supplier Jacob Hooy became known for its CBD products. A company that has been around since 1743! About
six years ago, you heard few athletes talking about this. It was the seniors who became the early adapters of using CBD.
The majority bought the CBD for pain relief of the muscles and joints. The growing popularity of CBD among athletes was triggered by the World Anti Doping Agency's (WADA) decision to exclude Cannabidiol (CBD) under S8 Cannabinoids.
Athletes do not use CBD as a performance-enhancing drug. Using CBD will not make you run faster, lose more weight or tire less quickly. Nor does the supplement add anything extra that you cannot get from your daily diet, as is the case with protein and vitamin supplementation, for example. So why do athletes use CBD?
Your body has an endo-cannabinoid system (ECS). A system that regulates your homeostasis by sending certain signals to receptors in your brain and body
your brain and body and producing substances that regulate, for example, your body temperature, stress, pain, rest, inflammation inhibitors, anxiety and general feeling of well-being. So you already have, among other things, the cannabinoids 2-AG and Anandamide in your body that
are active in that process. We call these endo because they are endogenous. The cannabinoids you'll find at CBD SPORTS as a supplement are phyto cannabinoids. Not from your egg- gen body, but from the hemp plant. Therefore, the re- den for athletes to use CBD is to give the ECS a hand.
This can then help with pain, stress, sleep, de- stabment, anxiety, recovery concentration and focus. All things that you want to keep under control as an athlete, but which can also be unbalanced precisely because you play sports. That is why many professional athletes and also more and more "regular" athletes use CBD on a daily basis. At CBD SPORTS you will also find many products that make the supplements athletes use anyway, such as protein, vitamins and minerals with CBD, so you don't have to swallow a whole table full of supplements daily. The external products like the muscle gels and balms work locally against muscle and joint pain.
Quality CBD
Fake CBD is often hemp seed oil which is offered as CBD product, but there is also sometimes tampering with the labels on the product. CBD is listed in milligrams or in a ratio percentage on the label. To be clear, if a 10-milliliter bottle contains 500 milligrams of CBD, the ratio is 5%. Not all manufacturers provide clear information on the label or even a total number of milligrams of CBD which, after testing, does not appear to be present in the bottle. Product quality is usually found in the ex traction process and the other ingredients used. For example, you can dissolve a CBD isolate, broad-spectrum or full-spectrum extract in an inferior hemp seed, olive or MCT oil. That makes it a poor-quality pro- duct. Of course, the molecule cannot be evaluated for quality. The product containing the molecule is. Beautiful texts like premium gold CBD oil therefore do not say much about CBD, but more about the oil. What I personally find important is the bioavailability of the product. In short, how fast or how slowly are the CBD molecules in milligrams absorbed by your body and also important is where and by which CB receptor?
