Benjamin Fro is an Amsterdam-based word artist who takes a philosophical look at contemporary society. In English or Dutch, Benjamin Fro knows how to inspire his listeners. With creative wordplay, merciless punchlines and razor-sharp insights, Benjamin Fro knows how to quiet any audience.
Benjamin Fro began as a poet in 2017. Back then, his election poem "Less Geert" garnered hundreds of thousands of views. Since then, Fro has been a welcome guest at spoken word events, festivals and demonstrations such as Woorden Worden Zinnen, Winternachten Festival and the Climate March 2021. The climate march was presented by Fro and attracted more than 40,000 visitors . His most popular poem is undoubtedly The Time for Revolution. The poem, clearly inspired by
Gil Scott Heron manages to quiet any audience in about 15 seconds only to burst into deafening applause about two minutes later. Fro also writes commissioned work. He has already written for The Ikea Foundation, De Goede Zaak, FNV and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, among others. Although Fro's texts have always been written to be recited aloud, Fro's lyrics have also surfaced in several books such as Inside Black (2020) and Practivism (2018).

Benjamin Fro played with his live band at our event. The show was a dynamic rollercoaster that alternated danceable songs with great stories and songs that really had a message. The whole audience joined in and the band made sure that all these different genres and stories melted together into one great whole
