Meditations is the trumpet and piano duo of Michael Simon and Maarten Meddens. The music of Meditations helps one to experience the "now", and takes you into a musical experience that offers opportunities for relaxation, reflection and re-invention.

The experience of silence is not only euphoric, but also practical. Silence offers the opportunity to check in with yourself and feel how you really are, but also to see what is occupying your mind. Such revealing experiences can also be attended to when listening to (certain) music. In music there is also silence, and it creates a perfect environment to enter the moment - the now. This is in fact the era in which we live. Pauses in music often involve breathing in and new ideas flowing from an inexhaustible source, and source you connect with when you focus on the experience of the "now", or allow yourself to be carried away by it. The music of Meditations invites you to do this, and takes you into a musical experience where reflexion, relaxation, rediscovery and spiritual cleansing can occur.

Michael Simon and Maarten Meddens are inspired musicians with many years of experience. In their musical lives there came a time when they needed a new challenge. They sought a lasting cooperation in which their artistic and musical skills could be fully utilized. Shared interests and musical taste brought them on the same path, and thus Meditations was born.
