Body & Soul - singer Mark Stouwdam and guitarist Peter Schilmöller - have been musical soul mates for many years. Initially as a duo that released covers and later as a duo that started writing their own music, which resulted in their first EP "That Is What We Do" (Twenty-Two Records 2016).

Their music can be described as jazzy Americana sound, influenced by a broad arsenal of other musical genres. Inspired by Jason Mraz, James Taylor, John Legend and The Bros. Landreth, among others, the duo creates an effortless mix of modern pop music with retro elements. Mark Stouwdam, with his experience as an actor among others, brings a touch of cabaret, while Peter Schilmöller takes care of the crossovers in their music because of his broad musical talent.

The audience appreciates Mark's voice as a warm voice like that of Raul Midón, and is touched by the narrative guitar playing and the subtle accompaniment with which Peter complements it.

The formation likes to be listened to by a broad audience both at home and abroad. Whether they are, as originally, on stage with just the two of them or complemented by a number of good musicians, the audience is always surprised by the penetrating way in which Body & Soul's music comes in.
On the new album of Body & Soul ("No Turning Back", Isolde Records 2020) Matthijs van Noort (keyboards), Frans Vollink (bass), Peter Weissink (drums) and Martin Verdonk (percussion) can be heard.
