This Scottish/Irish music duo consists of two virtuoso multi-instrumentalists who can provide both listening and background performances. Their repertoire covers the entire spectrum of Celtic music; from melancholic ballads to uptempo exhilarating dance tunes, which people often associate with the music they recognize from Irish pubs. They can also be booked in combination with various dance workshops (balfolk and ceilidh/ceili).

Looking at Erik de Jong's virtuoso accordion playing, and Tijn Berends' flying guitar rhythms, in which two pairs of hands fly back and forth over knobs and strings almost faster than the eye can follow, many people get an almost uncontrollable tendency to scratch their own fingers. Seeing this remarkable phenomenon, the two musicians decided to rename their duo Itchy Fingers.

Both band members are originally from the north of the country, and have been playing together for several years at the sessions in Groningen when they decided to bundle their musical skills in this pocket-sized band. Because of the large number of instruments these two multi-instrumentalists play, they are able to play a wide spectrum of sounds. Subtle waltzes on the tinwhistle, catchy rhythms on bodhrán and bouzouki, and danceable balfolk on accordion, concertina and harmonica are among the possibilities.
