Glennis has been involved with music since she was a child; she was already performing on stage at the age of six. But she really got into singing thanks to Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time.” Her mother gave her a single of this song, and it turned out to be a recurring theme throughout her musical career.

When Glennis was eleven years old, she got to sing a duet at Ahoy Rotterdam with none other than Julio Iglesias! He had seen her on “Gala for Kids” and was immediately won over.

At the age of sixteen, Glennis competed on the Soundmix Show. Here, Whitney Houston once again emerged as a major source of inspiration for the singer. This appearance led to her landing a record deal.

Her first single, “I’m Gonna Be Strong,” was the first song to come out of that deal. It’s a beautiful song about loss and staying strong during difficult times. The general public also loved the song, and she was quickly rewarded with a spot on the Mega Top 50.

In 2005, Glennis competed in the National Song Contest. That turned out to be a smart choice, as she won the competition, earning her a spot in the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, that adventure was less successful, as she did not make it past the preliminary rounds.

In 2010, Glennis received her first BUMA Award for Best Female Singer in the Netherlands

2011 was a year when the wind was once again at Glennis’s back. Her appearance on *Beste Zangers* breathed new life into her career. There, she sang the song “Afscheid van Volumia!” and achieved great success with it. In no time, the single reached number 1 on the charts, giving Glennis her first number-one hit.

That same year, Glennis was once again named Best Female Singer in the Netherlands by the BUMA Awards.

Her second number-one hit wasn’t long in coming, and in December she released the song “Wil Je Niet Nog 1 Nacht” with Edwin Evers.

In 2012, the influence of Whitney Houston reemerged in Glennis’s career.
The group Ladies of Soul was formed. Trijntje Oosterhuis, Edsilia Rombley, Berget Lewis, and Candy Dulfer performed alongside Glennis at a sold-out Ziggo Dome.

In May 2012, Glennis received her third BUMA Award for Best Female Singer in the Netherlands.

In 2013, it was once again Glennis who took home the award for Best Female Singer at the BUMA Awards.

Between 2016 and 2018, Grace played a number of roles in musicals and appeared on TV shows.

Participation in “The Big Music Quiz,” where she ultimately emerged as the winner.
Participation in “Een goed stel hersens”
The role of Geest in “The Christmas Show.”
The role of Mary in “The Passion 2018.”

The next big moment was, of course, “America’s Got Talent.”
Glennis achieved international success with her appearance on the talent show.
Once again, Grace chose a Whitney Houston song for her audition. She sang “Run to You” and won over the hearts of the American judges and the audience.
In the end, she made it to the finals and received nothing but praise, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Magician Shin Lim managed to secure more votes and walked away with the prize.
