How do you successfully work across the border? What are the differences between the Dutch and the Belgians? Politically, culturally and economically. Book this lecture to avoid misunderstandings and to better understand "each other".
When there was a growing demand from the business world for a more in-depth lecture on the differences between the Dutch and Belgians in the field of cooperation and living together, the communicator in Harry emerged again.
Masses of literature were processed from then on. We are talking about reports by Chambers of Commerce as well as political essays, to the comparative reflections of philosophers, expats, businessmen, etcetera. Websites were browsed and interviews were held
And all this led to a comparative seminar that takes a close look at the human differences between Belgians and Dutch as well as the political, cultural and economic differences.
Cause it could well be
that Flemings and Walloons have everything in common except language, and
that Flemish and
Dutch people have nothing in common except the language!
The lecture 'Dutch and Belgians, same language and yet so different' saw the light of day.
This lecture teaches us why in 'mixed' companies, things can go wrong or misunderstandings can arise, North and South are not the same!
But what can be done about it? How can we optimise these relationships? By communicating better, read 'to understand each other better'!
That's what this seminar is all about.
In a pleasant way, both nationalities are held up in front of a mirror, in which they discover that it is precisely the differences between the Belgians and the Dutch that (can) form a real European strength. By the way, weren't we the ones who, just after World War II, started together with the first piece of 'united Europe' via the BENELUX !?!
Profile
Harry is a real Fleming, but through his grandparents, who were Tilburgers, Harry van Hest has 50% Dutch blood flowing through his veins.
Years of holidays with family in the Netherlands gave him an experience that can count
Moreover, he has been giving various lectures, seminars and workshops both in Belgium and the Netherlands for years and feels equally at home above and below the 'rivers'.
But he was born and raised in Antwerp, where he lives and works. Antwerp, the Sinjorenstad which throughout history has always been considered the Belgian gateway to the Netherlands.
Formula
1) Seminar from 1h to 1.5 hours.
2) Extra A Quiz
If desired, this lecture can be followed by an interactive quiz in which EVERYONE of the audience present can participate via the 'Yes & No', or the 'Hats on - Hats off' formula (duration 20-30 minutes)
3) Extra 2 Seminar combined and focused on a visit to Antwerp
Harry also developed a specific programme for Dutch companies visiting Antwerp. This starts with the seminar mentioned above or an adapted formula where the emphasis is on the 'Dutch' tracks in Antwerp. ('What the people of Antwerp don't (want to) know, what the 'Dutch' should know').
After this lecture Harry will, if desired, guide companies through the city of the Scheldt for a quirky view of that city. Economics, politics, culture, 'culinaria' including (beer) tasting and especially a lot of humor will be interwoven.
If companies/groups want to combine this with dinner formulas or other touristic extras such as a stay in Antwerp, Harry will take care of a tailor made program.
