This inspired and very real-life tribute was created in 2019 with a group of musicians who have been on stage together many times. Hadewig Kras (vocals) and Jan Bijvoet (guitar) have been playing together since 1994, Tom Meeuws (drums) joined KRAS & BIJVOET in 1996. Arno De Motte has participated since 2001 and Tim Pensaert (bassist of the successful band Meltheads) and Nick Rosseel (who recently competed with the Voice) on keyboard and backings, joined when we started this Janis tribute in 2019. The first gigs tasted like more, and now we are performing with a longer set.

Bio of the singer:
Antwerp-based Dutch singer and songwriter Hadewig Kras came into contact with Blixa Bargeld, frontman of Einstürzende Neubauten and guitarist with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, in 2004. He invited her to Berlin to record in his studio. She scored highly with these "Berlin Recordings.
In 2007, Hadewig Kras entered that same studio again; this time with none other than Mario Goossens of Triggerfinger. Because of her explicit vocals, her bass sound and Mario's obviously phenomenal drumming, these recordings were even more radical than the first one.

Hadewig is a rock and opera singer who brings dynamic blues and chanson with ease. So Janis Joplin was not far away!

In 2013, Hadewig entered the American Independent Music Awards with her own repertoire and promptly won the audience award for both Best EP (Eclectic) and Best Song.
Janis Joplin feels like a soul sister.

Jan Bijvoet is a guitarist and actor in well-known series such as Peaky Blinders and Phoenix and played the lead role in Alex Van Warmerdam's Golden Palm nominated film Borgman and in The Battle of the Scheldt, among others.
