When Romy was born in 1992, she was destined to be on stage. With musical star Antje Monteiro as her mother, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree—Romy, too, has since become an integral part of the Dutch musical theater scene.

Romy’s breakthrough came with her appearance on “The Voice of Holland,” where she won over both the audience and the judges with a Whitney Houston song. She eventually reached the quarterfinals, but unfortunately, her journey ended there. But these performances did not go unnoticed; in fact, they led to her being cast in the musical *The Bodyguard*. This musical would ultimately become the most successful musical of the year and earned Romy a Musical Award for up-and-coming talent.

In 2017, Romy released her own CD, *A Tribute to Whitney*, featuring hits by the singer Whitney Houston, who passed away in 2012. That same year, Romy also appeared as the host of *Mijn Vader Is De Beste* on NPO. In this show, the participants’ fathers compete against each other in various challenges.

Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Romy on TV many times. She’s appeared on shows such as *Dance, Dance Dance* and *Lang Leve De Muziek Show*. She’s also been a frequent guest on programs like *Koffietijd*, *RTL Late Night*, *Carlos TV Café*, and *Shownieuws*.
