When Romy was born in 1992, she was destined to be on stage. With musical star Antje Monteiro as her mother, the apple didn't fall far from the tree because Romy is now an integral part of the musical landscape of the Netherlands.

Romy's breakthrough came with her participation in 'The Voice of Holland' where she conquered the hearts of both the audience and the jury with a song by Whitney Houston. Eventually she reached the quarterfinals and unfortunately the adventure ended there. But these performances didn't go unnoticed, it would make sure she was cast for the musical: The Bodyguard. This musical would eventually become the most successful musical of the year and earned Romy a Musical Award for up-and-coming talent.

In 2017 Romy released her own CD; A Tribute To Whitney. It contained hits by the singer Whitney Houston, who died in 2012. In that same year Romy was also featured as the presenter of Mijn Vader Is De Beste at the NPO. In this program the fathers of participants compete with each other in different parts.

By now we've been able to admire Romy on TV many times, she participated for example in Dance, Dance Dance and Long Live The Music Show. She was also often a guest on shows like Coffee Time, RTL Late Night, Carlos TV Café and Shownieuws.
