In 1966 Jan Vayne was born in Zuidwolde in the province of Drenthe. He was already taking piano lessons at the age of four and by the time he was ten he was already giving concerts and winning first prizes at competitions. Averse to traditions and with a great sense of freedom, he broke through the divide between pop and classical. Since that time, Jan Vayne has dedicated himself to propagating this motto in the most diverse ways. Freedom cannot be pigeonholed. This thought is always at the forefront of Jan's mind. Both in his life and in his music. His exceptional talent for improvisation and thorough training are essential to this.
