Taiko (太鼓) literally means "big drum". There are different kinds of taiko's and they are part of the Japanese traditional theatre, festivals and music genres. Book the Japanese drums Taiko now via ShowBird!

Playing a taiko in ensembles, as we know it nowadays, is called Kumi-Daiko and literally means: drumming in group. The best known example is Kodo.

With their exuberant energy, complicated rhythms and tight choreographies, our Taiko drummers belong to the absolute top. Playing on the Taiko, the traditional Japanese drum, elevates this group to an unseen stage art. They bring a variety of powerful performances; from short openings at events to full evening concerts at home and abroad.

At the centre always remains the overwhelming energy and rhythm of the drums, made from a 400 year old tree, with their powerful rhythmics. Open your senses, let yourself be carried away to a world you never saw before and experience this unique Japanese adventure. They also often perform with large Taiko groups from Japan.
