Jacques Herb really broke through in 1971 with his iconic single "Manuela," a song that became an instant success and brought him national fame. "Manuela" became the signature song of his career and made Jacques Herb a fixture within Dutch music.

The singer Jacques Herb was born on May 28, 1946 . He was the youngest in a family of 13 children. Just 15 years old he joined the "Wilde vaart" and already showed his talent as a singer in the various seaports. He accompanied himself on his guitar. He was discovered in 1970 during a talent show in Scheveningen by Pierre Kartner. His first single "De Toreador" immediately entered the charts of the then "sea station pirates".
