Who’s really in the driver’s seat? Is it you? Or is it the controller who wants to keep everything under control? The perfectionist who sets the bar high? Or perhaps the people-pleaser who wants to live up to everyone else’s expectations?
A theatrical and thought-provoking keynote about the masks we wear, combining humor, relatability, and depth, that invites you to look at yourself and your behavior from a whole new perspective.
A theatrical keynote on personal leadership, full of humor, relatable moments, and depth. Who’s at the wheel of your life?
We like to think we’re in control of our behavior and the choices we make. But is that really the case?
From a young age, we develop limiting beliefs that we carry with us unconsciously. These beliefs become patterns in our behavior, and from them our masks emerge. We want to be successful, liked, strong—and above all, we don’t want to fail. So we please others, keep everything under control, project a dominant presence, or base our self-worth on how much we help others.
And then we even get compliments for this behavior. ;-)
So who’s at the wheel? You or your
masks?
In the keynote, “The Immature Adult,” Irma van Herwaarden takes you on a journey into the world of our masks through personal stories, humor, and relatable examples.
Personal leadership begins with awareness: who’s in the driver’s seat of your behavior? By recognizing your own patterns, you can take responsibility for your behavior and find the courage to make different choices.
A keynote that will make you laugh, challenge you, and—above all—help you see yourself and your colleagues in a new light.
As part of this keynote, Irma will stay after the presentation to chat, answer questions, or discuss personal experiences shared by audience members.
