If you constantly listen to heavy hardcore (whether on the radio or through your own limiting, repetitive thoughts), you’ll develop a heavy hardcore state of being, and that affects everything:
your mood, how you view yourself, and your surroundings.

But what happens when you put on a different record?

In her keynote and theater concerts, Birkit Rietveld takes you on a journey through the songs she used to listen to, to the records she consciously chose to sing and listen to in order to influence her mood and achieve success, through songs and sketches improvised on the spot, interacting with the audience.

Birkit was bullied as a child, and for years the voices of her bullies continued to echo in her mind. Until she chose to put on a different record…

With live music she performs alongside a musician—a mix of rehearsed songs from the past and improvisations she pulls out of thin air—she demonstrates what happens when you consciously set a different tone. She actively involves the audience in the story. For example, attendees can suggest intentional words that Birkit then turns into a song on the spot.

As an improvisation expert, Birkit constantly tunes in to the audience in front of her and what’s happening in the room. No audience is the same, so no keynote is exactly the same.
