The Big Swingers is a Dutch party band founded by British multi-instrumentalist James Ludlam and singer Eva van der Zanden. Their thing: vintage pop and swing, from the '20s to now. They play covers of pop, soul and rock, but with a swinging edge. Completely live, completely acoustic, with no backing tracks.
The band members have quite a few miles on the clock. Previously they have been on stage with acts like Crazy Piano's, Rowwen Hèze, The Coronas and Kane. You notice that background, the sound is tight and the show draws the audience in right away. Songs by Daft Punk, Bruno Mars, The Beatles and ELO get a complete makeover in their hands to a swinging vintage sound, focused on interaction with the audience. They have performed at Ahoy and Studio21, among other venues, and collaborated with Riot Jazz Brass Band, among others.
The Big Swingers can be booked in various packages, depending on location, budget and occasion. From a compact band set with backline to a full-service show with their own PA and lighting set for up to 250 guests, and DJ+band combinations for up to 500 people or more.
