Drya Ingra is an enchanting duo of harp and vibraphone that creates a warm, dreamy sound world. Their music moves effortlessly between classical, ambient and modern improvisation. Perfect for concerts and events that call for atmosphere, sophistication and a unique live experience.
Drya Ingra is a harp and vibraphone duo that focuses on the relationship between nature, material and resonance. The name Drya Ingra refers both to the dryade, the mythical forest nymph inextricably linked to trees, and to the idea of inner vibration and growth. Together, these concepts form the foundation of the duo's artistic work.
The harp, composed of wood and strings, embodies Drya's organic and rooted nature. The instrument bears a direct kinship with the tree from which it was created and acts as a resonant body in which touch, breath and time become audible. The harp represents lyricism, silence and natural continuity.
Within Ingra, the vibraphone provides counterpoint and depth. With its metal sound bars and subtle vibrato, the
instrument represents vibration, movement and inner pulse. The vibraphone connects rhythmic precision with timbre and allows resonance to persist in space even after the physical gesture has disappeared.
In the interplay of harp and vibraphone, Drya Ingra explores how wood and metal do not contrast but reinforce each other. Sound is approached as a breathing phenomenon: sometimes fragile and hushed, sometimes pulsating and layered. Silence plays an active role and acts as a space in which resonance can unfold.
Drya Ingra's repertoire moves within contemporary chamber music and includes both existing works and new creations. The duo seeks music in which time is slowed down and listening is deepened - a sound practice in which attention, material and mythical imagination come together.
Inge Frimout-Hei is the duo's harpist and singer.
With extensive experience in classical, folk and contemporary music, this role is written on Inge's heart. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and a composer, she knows how to strike the right chord like no other. For example, Melrose Suite was compulsory work for the Rosa Spier Harp Competition. Her compositions are played worldwide by fellow harpists. For Drya Ingra she provides dreamy vocal lines and original harp passages.
Ralph Adriaansen is the percussive counterpart.
A graduate of the Tilburg Conservatory, Ralph just entered the theater world by touring for 7 seasons with cabaret artist Hans Liberg. On vibraphone, Ralph is active as a soloist with orchestras and his own youtube channel Vibralph. With Drya Ingra, he mainly brings the metallic counter sounds on vibraphone, percussion and handpan. With his rhythmic approach, he ensures that every concert will be a gripping experience.
