Julian Simmes is a conservatory-trained pianist who guarantees a classical piano act of exceptional quality. With in-depth musical training, virtuoso repertoire and a mature stage presence, he knows how to touch and impress his audience.

His classical concert repertoire includes works from the romantic and impressionist repertoire, as well as technically brilliant and expressive pieces that appeal to both connoisseurs and a wide audience. Julian combines technical mastery with musicality, sound refinement and strong interpretation.

During a classical living room piano concert, Julian Simmes provides a full-fledged classical piano concert in an intimate, domestic setting. This concept is especially for music lovers with a piano or grand piano at home who want to experience a live concert, without a concert hall but with artistic quality.

The program consists of carefully chosen, accessible classical piano works by composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Ravel and Liszt: music that appeals to a wide audience and is perfectly suited to a smaller setting. If desired, the repertoire can be expanded to include more virtuosic or heavier classical works, in full consultation with the client. Virtually all request numbers are also possible.

Unique to this living room concert is the informal and personal atmosphere. In between the works Julian can give explanations about the music, the composers and the background of the pieces, which makes the concert extra profound and accessible for both connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

The standard price of €850 is based on a concert program of approximately 45 minutes. The playing time can be adjusted in consultation. Repertoire choice and degree of explanation are also flexible and negotiable.

This living room concert is ideally suited for private concerts, birthdays, salons, cultural evenings and small-scale musical gatherings where attentive listening is central.

Musical biography
Julian Simmes (*1998) began his first piano lessons at the age of 5 with his father and Remco Wijnands. At the age of 7 he was admitted to the young talent class of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Here he received theory and solo lessons from Daniël Salbert. The piano lessons in The Hague he received for 5 years from Joke van Haeringen. At the Oost Gelderland School of Music he passed all 4 exams (A through D) cum laude. Julian studied School Music at the Artez Conservatory and received piano lessons from Fred Oldenburg, where he graduated with honors with Maurice Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit as his piano principal subject.
