Kaléo Kollective breaks from what we are used to seeing in a string quartet. String instruments are played all over the world, everywhere the instruments and styles are different. Kaléo Kollective brings a repertoire from around the world and will play together music from China, Kurdistan, Latin America and Indonesia, among others.

Kaléo Kollective is the cross-cultural string ensemble (cello, viola, violin & erhu) of Catching Cultures. In addition to traditional pieces, they play improvisations and their own compositions. On a project basis, they like to invite other players of non-Western stringed instruments such as the kemancheh, ribab or sarangi.
