Rotterdam based band celebrating the best of Brasilian popular music from the 50's to the 90's. Think of Samba, Bossanova, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), arranged in a fresh way ideal for both listening and dancing!
Bossame performs infectious and swinging Brazilian music, inspired by authentic samba, bossa nova, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) from the 1950s through the 1990s. They bring contemporary interpretations of songs made famous by artists such as Chico Buarque, Dorival Caymmi, Caetano Veloso, João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Djavan, João Bosco, and Ivan Lins.
The band’s lineup consists of Rotterdam-based musicians active in pop, jazz, and classical music, all united by their passion for the rhythmic and melodic richness, versatility, and virtuosity of Brazilian music. Most members know each other through EPM Holanda, the Brazilian music school in Rotterdam. That’s why the term Música Roffa-Brasileira fits Bossame perfectly.
Their debut EP, Com Licença, is available on all streaming platforms. Live, Bossame delivers a
varied set of classics and hidden gems from the Brazilian repertoire—music thoroughly tested on the beaches and streets of Rio de Janeiro and equally perfect for parties, receptions, and special occasions.

Selektor Mendes played at my dinner and party for my birthday. The party was in 70's style. During dinner he played excellent varied music. After dinner the party broke loose with soul and disco songs from that era; we all danced continuously. He is a pleasant and calm person who senses the atmosphere very well. Several guests said they enjoyed his music and vinyl gives extra atmosphere! We are very satisfied!
