Gio (1986) is a Dutch R&B and pop singer of Surinamese descent who has been a fixture
on the Dutch music scene since 2005. His debut album, *First*, produced hits such as “Magic,” “Fantasy,”
Girl, and “Hard to Get,” and earned him coveted opening acts for global stars such as Kanye
West, Destiny’s Child, Mary J. Blige, the Pussycat Dolls, and Ne-Yo.

After starting out singing in English, Gio successfully transitioned to Dutch-language music. With songs
like “Ik Denk Aan Jou” and “Je Hebt Me” (produced by Giorgio Tuinfort), he once again conquered the
charts. This was followed by major collaborations such as the platinum single “Omlaag” (with Keizer) and the
gold hit “Salut” (with Boef, Bollebof & Justice Toch)

In the years that followed, Gio continued to innovate musically. He founded his own label, Gio Music,
and signed an exclusive deal with PM Label Group. As part of this partnership, he released his first full-length
Dutch-language pop album, featuring eleven tracks including “Jij Bent ’t,” “En Dat Weet Je,” and “Als Je Huilt.”
Several songs were featured on 100%NL, and one track was named “De Hit van
100.”

In December 2024, he released the single “Over Is” with Jrailoo—a modern R&B track that
combines his signature sound with a fresh pop style.

A particular highlight followed in March 2025, when Gio
completely sold out his own concert at Paradiso (Amsterdam). With this, he once again confirmed his status as one of the Netherlands’ most beloved live artists.
