Crackin' Up is the Rolling Stones tribute band from the IJmond area, with a penchant for the Stones' rhythm & blues period in the 1960s. The band brings the raw energy and sound of those early Stones years to life on stage.
Crackin' Up has a long history with some breaks, and has existed - intermittently - since 2004. In 2025, Crackin' Up has been revived with a fresh lineup of experienced musicians from the regional music scene.
Line-up:
Cees Ebbinge - Bass
Was part of the second line-up of Crackin' Up back in 2008. Later played in Yaya's Out!
Martijn Smit - Vocals
Was active as vocalist of The Rolling Scones from 2013 to 2018.
Rob Verkerk - Rhythm/Lead Guitar
Guitarist with versatile experience. Also plays in the Double Dutch Blues Project.
Cor Dijkhuizen - Drums
Experienced drummer, also active in the blues band John The Revelator.
Frits van Schaik - Open G Rhythm/Lead Guitar & Vocals. Specialist in the distinctive Keith Richards style with open G tuning.
History:
2004 - Formation
of Crackin' Up.
2008 - Second line-up including vocalist Aart van Heusden († 2013) and also Cees.
2012 - After a change, the band name changes to Yaya's Out!, a formation that remained active until 2014.
2025 - Crackin' Up is re-formed with a partly new, partly familiar line-up.

Crackin' Up performances are a feast of recognition and surprise. Classics are performed with love, but lesser-known gems also get a stage. And the audience? They dance, sing and cheer like it's the 70s and we're all standing in Madison Square Garden. In short: Crackin' Up is not a cover band, but a time machine with a rock 'n' roll engine. For those who miss the Stones, or have never seen them live( like me), this is the closest alternative and maybe even more fun, because you don't have to pay a fortune for it. And you don't have to travel far for it either. Follow them closely and be surprised.
