i focus particularly on singing during ceremonies: weddings, funerals and moments of significance in which music may carry the heart.

Singing for me is a state of unprotected openness, of naked authenticity. No display, no role - but showing my true being.
I put into your hands what is truly alive in my chest at the moment, trusting that the unpolished gift carries its own power of expression. Not to impress or to perform a technical tour de force, but to make audible what is presenting itself right now - exactly as it arises.
And yes, sometimes my voice flows as if it has been waiting all along to be released. At other times, feelings are buried deeper, the throat tightens, and the connection feels more fragile and distant.
Yet I choose to sing through that very veil. That's where it gains veracity. That's where emotion becomes audible. And it is precisely in that vulnerable passage that it can truly touch and give extra sparkle to the moment.


I am Yury Meijer, 55 years old, and found my calling 2 years ago on the Greek island of Corfu. There my voice sounded in public for the first time - initially in small bars, and soon weekly in the English church.

Yet it was only after a bad car accident, several months ago, that I received the decisive push to no longer keep my voice to myself, but to share it with the world - with the inner mission to bring comfort and hope where words sometimes fail.

Since then, I have focused particularly on singing during ceremonies: weddings, funerals and moments of significance where music may carry the heart. You can ask me to perform your favorite song, or the precious songs of the one you are saying goodbye to - as a personal timbre for your ceremony, as a last honor, as a loving greeting.


Singing is for me a vocation rather than an earning model, the vocation to give people an emotional experience with which sorrow may be processed or hope and strength given. The given price is therefore also an indication. However, there are also situations where I am willing to sing for less or even without a fee, such as in a (distressing) situation, a last wish or a charity. Therefore, always indicate the circumstances in your request as well as what you would like. So if you feel that my voice and repertoire can add value during your ceremony I would love to hear about it in the request accompanied by the occasion and your wishes!
