When Patrick starts to dance, an energy fills the room that’s truly contagious. I was genuinely moved by his performance. Because I know that Patrick fights for the rainforest, I automatically make the connection between his dance and the rainforest. That gives it an extra layer of meaning. I’m aware that we’re not doing well when it comes to deforestation, but through Patrick’s dance, I truly feel it. I feel the beauty of nature, which he expresses through his movements. Patrick is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm. As director of Theaterstudio Apeldoorn, I had the pleasure of working with him for many years — in a warm, professional, and sincere way. And for all those reasons, we’ve recently resumed our collaboration, which led to the creation of an arts education foundation for schools: Project Lima. Together with three other professional dancers, we develop projects with a social theme. In consultation with Patrick, our first topic is the rainforest.
