Looking for an exciting and humorous murder mystery dinner for your company party, family gathering, group of friends, or employee association? Travel back to 1905 and take a seat in the small village of Wisp. Because things in Wisp have been anything but peaceful lately.

There have been thefts, vandalism, and strange occurrences. And when a villager dies under suspicious circumstances, no one knows who to trust anymore. Welcome to The Deadly Village. A murder mystery in the traditional Dutch style.

It is 1905. At Bertje’s inn, the colorful residents of Wisp are gathering for an important village meeting. The mayor has called everyone together because something is seriously wrong in the village. But before the meeting has even really begun, something happens that changes everything. More and more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. Old secrets come to light, residents turn out to have motives, and it slowly becomes clear that peace in Wisp may be further away than ever.

Meet the mayor, the notary, the pastor, and all sorts of other colorful villagers. But be careful. Not everyone is telling the truth. Who did it?

The Dead Village isn’t just a play where you sit and watch actors. You become part of the investigation. Throughout the evening, new events, clues, and dialogues become part of the story. Seated at the table, you’ll discuss what you’ve seen and heard and work together to uncover the truth.

Who has a motive? Who is lying? Who is trying to hide something? And most importantly: Who committed the murder?

At the end of the evening, it’s up to your group to identify the culprit(s) and explain how you reached that conclusion.

The story is performed by five professional actors who bring the residents of Wisp to life. The combination of theater, humor, suspense, and interaction ensures that the story continues to unfold over the course of about 3.5 hours.

You don’t need any acting experience yourself. The actors carry the story and ensure that everyone can participate in an accessible way, without having to act the entire evening. After all, that’s their job! The emphasis is on the actors’ performance, with fun moments of audience participation. So you don’t have to dress up, and you won’t be given a complicated role to play all evening. You can simply sit back, enjoy your meal, laugh, investigate, and try to solve the murder mystery along the way.

The murder mystery dinner is suitable for, among others:

“The Dead Village” can be booked for groups of 25 to a maximum of 80 people. Guests work together in teams of up to 10 people per table to investigate the case.

More than 2,500 guests have now experienced The Village of the Dead. It’s an evening where the story doesn’t just unfold on stage. The events unfold all around you, sparking plenty of discussion, gossip, laughter, and suspicion at the table. And of course, you’ll also have to eat your dinner. Though we can’t promise that everyone will survive the evening.

The program lasts about 3.5 hours and is performed by 5 actors.

We provide the complete story and all necessary props. You provide the venue and, if desired, the dinner. Would you rather leave everything to us? That’s also possible. If desired, we can arrange the venue and catering in collaboration with one of our partner venues—such as castles, farmhouses, and other unique event spaces. This way, we can organize the entire murder mystery dinner for you.

Four standing tables are required for the murder mystery dinner.

The actors perform without sound amplification. Guests sit at tables of up to 10 people and work together to solve the mystery. The space must therefore be easily navigable and offer sufficient room to move around.
