Port is one of the world's most respected wines, with a rich tradition dating back more than 300 years. Over the centuries, Port has evolved into a full-bodied, opulent wine with a wide range of styles - from the lively young Ruby to the velvety Tawny to the powerful Vintage Port. Upon arrival, you will receive a professional tasting form that will allow you to review each Port and record your personal preferences. This form will help you compare the different flavors and aromas and record which port suits you best. Our sommelier will guide you during the tasting, share interesting insights about the origin and production process of the port, and of course answer your questions.
Port is a fortified, necessarily sweet wine originating exclusively from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal. Its name derives from the city of Porto (Oporto), located on the Atlantic Ocean.
At Goed Glas Wijn, we select our Port with care from Sequeirinha, a young but promising Port house run by two sisters. They work with passion and skill, using only the best grapes. The grapes are hand-picked and traditionally foot-pressed. Their idyllically located Quinta in the sunny, high-altitude Douro Valley produces Port wines that are both elegant and powerful, with a refined long finish.
Rita Sequeira, the winemaker, leads the production process with an expert team. Sequeirinha also benefits from the expertise of Catarina and César Sequeira, who are dedicated to
product development, marketing and sales. More than a company, Sequeirinha is a family, united by their passion to share the authentic taste of the Douro with customers, visitors and partners.

Rosé Port - Fruity and refreshing White Port Reserve - Aromatic and elegant Ruby Port - Youthful and full-bodied LBV Port - Rich and structured Tawny Port Reserve - Complex and velvety 10 Years Port - Perfectly aged with a long finish. Port and cheese are a classic match due to their contrasting flavors and textures. The sweet notes of Port harmonize beautifully with the salty and creamy flavors of cheese, making for a unique taste experience.

On a warm Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious wine tasting provided by Goed Glas Wijn. The event took place at our home, which created a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Our guide for the afternoon, Robin, led us through a selection of exceptional Portuguese wines with great enthusiasm and knowledge. This selection offered a fresh look at a wine country that may not be as well known to many. The wines ranged from refreshing whites to rich reds, each with their own character and story. What made this tasting extra special was that all the wines came from the same winery. This winery was known for its unique technique in which the wines are aged at a depth of about 40 meters underground. This process gave the wines a special character and distinctive taste, which was evident during the tasting. After discovering a range of excellent white and red wines, we concluded the afternoon with a surprising tasting of white and red port. This conclusion added a sweet and rich dimension to the tasting, which was a perfect way to complete the experience. The port wines, like the other wines, were clearly of high quality and offered a nice variety of flavors. Robin was an excellent host; he made everyone feel comfortable and had the opportunity to ask questions. His knowledge of Portuguese wines and the winery's unique production process brought an extra layer of depth to the tasting. All in all, it was a successful get-together full of new discoveries. The tasting offered not only a delicious selection of wines, but also an educational and entertaining afternoon. Beautiful evening with delicious homemade Spanish tapas and flavorful wines. Our group, despite the diversity of tastes, actually liked almost all the wines. The very knowledgeable and originally Spanish David guided us along the Spanish wine routes. He had great tips and provided a very interesting presentation of the wines.
